About Me

Trinity-Design-PRO-Angini-Mohammed-1485RR(NoLogo)-Laughter-5x5.jpg

Born in the Caribbean, I grew up in a community that was more collectivistic than individualistic. I learned about the values of Social Work (service, integrity, and compassion) from my mentors—my mother and grandmother. Both were pillars in the community through their volunteering and service. They exemplified kindness, calmness, and a non-judgmental approach to everyone they interacted with. It was through my experiences with them that I was led to Social Work and used it as a tool to overcome my own challenges of intergenerational trauma, medical trauma, and violence.

Now, as a practitioner, I bring that same kindness, calmness, and non-judgmental presence into my work with clients. These qualities have been foundational in both my upbringing and my professional practice. I believe deeply in the healing power of being heard and in creating a space where people can feel safe enough to begin making meaningful change.

My connection to the Caribbean has also shaped how I understand healing—not only through conversation, but through environment. Being surrounded by water and nature and through my experience with sailing, this has influenced my appreciation for spaces that naturally support grounding, reflection, and regulation. This perspective continues to inform my work today, both in and beyond the therapy room.

Most importantly, my reason for becoming a Social Worker is rooted in my love for the profession, my belief in the healing power of being heard, and my commitment to contributing to social justice in both small and meaningful ways.
