Parenting Plan Assessments

A structured, neutral process to support child-focused parenting decisions

Parenting Plan Assessments provide a thoughtful and impartial process to help families better understand what arrangements may best support their child’s well-being.

At Safe Harbor Support, assessments are conducted with care, neutrality, and a focus on the unique needs of each family.

What Is A Parenting Plan Assessment?

A Parenting Plan Assessment is a structured and neutral process used to gather information about family dynamics, parenting strengths, and the needs of the child. The goal is to provide clear, balanced recommendations that support the best interests of the child.

This process may be helpful during separation or divorce, when there are disagreements about parenting arrangements, or when families are seeking clarity and direction moving forward.

Assessments are available on a private basis, with the ability to support court-involved matters as needed.

A Thoughtful, Child-Centred Approach

Parenting Plan Assessments at Safe Harbor Support are conducted with a focus on neutrality, fairness, and respect for all individuals involved.

Angini approaches each assessment with:

  • A child-centred lens in all recommendations

  • Trauma-informed awareness and sensitivity

  • A structured and respectful process

  • Careful attention to the unique dynamics of each family

She is trained to conduct Parenting Plan Assessments and is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), Ontario Chapter, reflecting her commitment to best practices in family assessment work.

What to Expect?

Each assessment is tailored to the needs of the family, but typically includes:

  • An initial consultation to determine fit and scope

  • Individual meetings with parents (and children where appropriate)

  • Review of relevant documents and background information

  • Collateral input from other professionals involved

  • A written report with observations and recommendations

Parenting Plan Assessments are not therapy, but a neutral and structured process that may support decision-making and next steps.

Considering a Parenting Plan Assessment?
